It’s hard enough running your own business, but throw in your 10 year old son’s presentation on Washington state for his 4th grade State Fair and your 8 year old daughter’s 4 haikus about the sun, due tomorrow, and you have a busy evening ahead. For those of you who don’t know, the state muffin of Washington is the blueberry muffin so of course those must be baked for the fair as well. Throw in a blow dry for your daughter because she doesn’t want “poofy” hair at her friend’s outdoor pool party tomorrow. While the muffins cool, I put together and tape what seems like hundreds of cartons to be used for shipping out our web orders. Next I make the mistake of allowing a family viewing of the Scripp’s National Spelling Bee until 10:30pm because my children, who refuse to practice their own spelling words are fascinated by how incredibly hard other childreen work on theirs. Morning comes, and with it the impossible task of getting them out of bed at 6:30 for school, and so it goes…But, as we all know, we wouldn’t have it any other way!
